A vividly beautiful orange and yellow flower emerging from tall, straight stems with elegant long leaves, makes this a stunning garden or balcony flowering plant. It is well suited for growing in tropical areas and is one of the few flowering plants that self pollinates. And easy to care for, full sun loving plant. A fully grown heliconia can reach several feet in height, and will keep producing shoots from underground rhizomes to populate the area around the mother plant.

GROWING: Re-pot in a larger container to increase root and foliage growth.
LIGHT: Grow outdoors with exposure to direct sunlight for at least six hours daily.
WATERING: Daily everyday. Never let its roots sit in stagnant water.
FERTILIZING: Our plants are sold in organically enriched, NPK+MagSulf strong, potting mixes that would need no additional soil amendments for at least one year. If migrating to a larger container, we recommend Mandy's Farm Foliage Potting Mix or one similar to it, and topping up with compost and gobar.
